Northern Sea Otter Pup

When the Spring comes to Vancouver the sea otter pups can often be seen on their training swims with their mothers. They're one of the cutest things to watch on the planet. As Summer rolls on and they're lucky to have good hunting, the pups get quite chubby on molluscs, starfish and so forth. This little guy has just come to after having a quick kip floating on his back in the kelp field.

The medium is camphor wood, I can assure you there won't be a moth in or anywhere near the workshop for at least a month. Every chisel stroke was a new experience in the eye watering prowess of the stuff.
